Good day everyone!
An area of low pressure is still forecast to begin to develop over the Gulf coast region, then continue to work its way ENE, eventually becoming positioned off the DELMARVA / New England regions. This system is slated to aid in bringing more snowfall to the Great Lakes and New England areas over the next 5 days, along with windy conditions over the area, with higher winds and gusts to the offshore Atlantic region. High seas will be experienced offshore of the Mid Atlantic and New England areas.
Based on the latest run of the ECMWF and GFS global models, it appears this system will reinforce the extremely cold to frigid temperatures, which will cover the majority of the U.S. during the next 5 days.
