What is this rainbow-like thing and how did I walk into it? : meteorology1 min read
On a walk along the Maine coast, I came across what looked like a seadog / colourless rainbow that was landing on a rocky outcropping.
As I walked towards it, it didn’t recede, just stayed in the same place. I figured it was an optical illusion until I walked into it. The light was ethereal and significantly brighter than outside of it.
I’ve looked and looked but have not found a suitable explanation for how that happened. Am I a god? Was I on hallucinagenics so strong even my camera captured it?
