What are these clouds?

This was spotted in the lower South Island of New Zealand about two months ago. There was a high pressure system to the west, and a cyclone about 1000km north (near Auckland). Locally, it was a showery day and clouds stretching from a cool southwest wind flow, all the way up to the cyclone. Thanks!
