Western Heat in Context

Just some quick plotting in python today looking at the heat event in the west (Salt Lake City, because….I live here), and geez. 2022 (this year) in the red dots. Houston, we have a problem. Too many events that jump the rails like this in the last several years. Once I figure API access, I can quickly make these for anywhere, I am sure some California stations look even more impressive. I started at 1900 because……that was a nice round year, period of record goes back further.
