Watch Coming for the Tennessee Valley…Storms Developing Just East of Birmingham : The Alabama Weather Blog

The NWS in Huntsville is coordinating with the SPC on a severe thunderstorm watch that will include some of their counties in North Alabama.
A developing thunderstorm is east of Birmingham in the Leeds area. Another cell is in the Sterrett area. The NWS Birmingham has issued a significant weather advisory for eastern Jefferson, western St. Clair and northern Shelby. These cells are moving east southeast at 10-12 mph.
