Blooming flowers, some rain and maybe even some freezing rain in parts of our area New Year’s Eve and Day, and then watching Sunday for a potential Nor’easter…

Well, as I said, it has been so unusually warm that the south facing slopes of my property in Tewksbury Township, Hunterdon County, NJ had blooming flowers on December 28th. This is just incredible…

Today will be variably cloudy with highs in the upper 20’s and 30’s.

Tomorrow will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower at night in Northeastern PA, Southeastern NY State and Fairfield County, CT as a cold front drops south towards our area. Highs will be in the 30’s to low 40’s.

New Year’s Eve, light rain or drizzle will be likely, ending in the afternoon and evening from north to south as the cold front pushes south of our area. A little freezing rain will be possible in Northeastern PA. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

New Year’s Day, clouds will increase with rain developing in the afternoon and evening as a disturbance develops along the Texas Gulf Coast and then pushes northward into the Great Lakes. There could be some freezing rain in parts of East Central and Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY state, and Northern Fairfield County, CT, especially in Northeastern PA. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Saturday, the rain will end early in the day, followed by clearing, as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s.

Sunday there will be a chance of rain or snow as a disturbance approaching from the west may develop into a Nor’easter along the Middle Atlantic Coast. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Monday through next Thursday, January 7th, are then looking nice with highs in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s Monday, and the low to mid 40’s next Tuesday through Thursday.

Next Friday, January 8th is then looking variably cloudy with a chance of a shower. Highs will be in the 40’s.

Next Saturday, January 9th through next Monday, January 11th, are then looking potentially unsettled with a chance of showers each day. Highs will be in the low to mid 40’s next Saturday and Sunday and the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Monday.
