Heavy rain, strong wind, and some snow in our future…
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! Enjoy it, because it is the calm before the storm and it will be very nice today with highs in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.
Tomorrow, a strong storm will approach from the west, causing rain to develop in the morning from west to east, becoming heavy at times in the late afternoon and evening. Some flooding will be possibly with total rainfall amounts of 1-2.5 inches. It will become windy at night with gusts of up to 50 mph possible. The rain will change to snow late at night in Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and in Northern Fairfield County, CT. Highs will be in the mid to upper 40’s.
Friday, the rain will change to snow early in the morning and then will end later in the morning from northwest to southeast. It will be windy in the morning, with gusts up to 50 mph possible. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.
Total possible snowfall accumulation:
A trace to an inch: Southeastern PA, Southern NJ
A trace to an inch or two: East Central and Northeastern PA, Central NJ, NYC, and Long Island
1-4 inches: Northern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and Fairfield County, CT

Saturday through next Thursday, March 25th, will then be nice with highs gradually rising from the mid 40’s to low 50’s Saturday, to the 50’s Sunday, the mid 50’s to low 60’s Monday, and the upper 50[s to mid 60’s Tuesday, then dropping back slightly to the mid 50’s to mid 60’s next Wednesday, and the mid 50’s to low 60’s next Thursday.
Next Friday, March 26th, clouds will increase with a chance of a shower in the afternoon or evening as a disturbance approaches from the west. Highs will be in the mid 50’s to mid 60’s.
Next Saturday, March 27th and next Sunday, March 28th, will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the upper 50’s to mid 60’s next Saturday and the mid 50’s to low 60’s next Sunday.
Next Monday, March 29th and next Tuesday, March 30th, are then looking nice with highs in the mid 50’s next Monday and the low to mid 50’s next Tuesday.
