Strong Storms Over West Alabama : The Alabama Weather Blog

Thunderstorms have become numerous early this afternoon over West Alaaba, Marion, Winston, Lamar, Fayette, and Walker counties. They are moving southeast at 20 mph.
The strongest storm, which may contain nickle-sized hail, is southwest of Nauvoo in Walker County. It will move toward Carbon Hill.
Be ready for gusty winds of 40-50 mph and small hail as well as dangerous lightning with these storms. It appears that the storms may affect the western parts of the Birmingham Metro eventually, around 330-4 p.m.
