Severe T-Storm Watch Issued for NW Corner of Alabama Until 9 pm1 min read
The SPC and NWS Huntsville has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Colbert, Franklin, Lauderdale, Lawrence, and Limestone counties in North Alabama until 9 pm tonight. Here is the text from the SPC:
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
* Effective this Thursday afternoon and evening from 235 PM until
900 PM CDT.
* Primary threats include…
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible
A tornado or two possible
SUMMARY…Scattered thunderstorms are forecast to continue to
develop and intensify during the afternoon and persist into the
evening. A few supercells and line segments will be capable of
mainly a risk for damaging gusts and large hail.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 55
statute miles east and west of a line from 35 miles north northeast
of Bowling Green KY to 40 miles west southwest of Muscle Shoals AL.

REMEMBER…A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
