Hurricane Research Division scientists participated in the NOAA 2022 Postseason Aircraft Operations Hotwash at the Aircraft Operations Center in Lakeland, FL, on January 18.
Hurricane researchers met with staff from the NOAA’s National Hurricane Center, the Environmental Modeling Center, and the Aircraft Operations Center, as well as from the Air Force, to examine both the successes and challenges of field operations during the 2022 Atlantic hurricane season.
The group reviewed the missions conducted and discuss what went well operationally, what should be improved for the 2023 hurricane season, and plans for the upcoming season.
