New Tornado Watch Issued for Parts of Central Alabama Until 6 am Wednesday : The Alabama Weather Blog

NWS Birmingham and the Storm Prediction Center has issued a new TORNADO WATCH effective immediately until 6 am Wednesday morning for the following counties in Central Alabama: Autauga, Chilton, Coosa, Elmore, Jefferson, Lowndes, Montgomery, Pike, Shelby, Bibb, Dallas, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Marengo, Perry, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, and Walker.
A few tornadoes likely, along with isolated hail up to ping pong size and scattered damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph possible.
This new watch replaces the old one that was in effect for Bibb, Dallas, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Marengo, Perry, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, Walker until 11 pm.
