Monitoring a Dangerous Storm in Montgomery County

We’re closely monitoring a strong thunderstorm that is currently moving through the Montgomery area. Presently, it’s situated over southwestern Montgomery County, extending from the city of Montgomery southward along US 31 and I-65.

This storm is expected to shift eastward towards Pike Road. Rotation has been detected within this thunderstorm, particularly just west of Sprague and south of Snowdoun, with high reflectivity and broad rotation, indicating the potential for tornado development at any moment.

Its projected path is towards the east-northeast, heading towards Pike Road, Cecil, Mitchell, and Hardaway, remaining just south of I-85 as it progresses into Macon County after passing through Montgomery County.

Residents in the trajectory of this hazardous storm should be prepared to take immediate action and seek safe shelter if a warning is issued. Stay vigilant and stay safe.
