TERRIFIC TUESDAY: Another beautiful, sunny, spring day across Alabama, and after the chilly start to the day, temperatures are rising into the 70s this afternoon. Tonight will be chilly, but not as cold as recent nights, we are forecasting lows in the upper 40s and lower 50s.

BIRMINGHAM ALMANAC: For April 22nd, the average high for Birmingham is 77° and the average low is 54°. The record high is 90° set in 1896, while the record low is 30° set in 1986. We average 0.16” of precipitation on this date, and the record value is 1.36” set in 1983.

WARMING DAYS AHEAD: The weather stays dry tomorrow with a high in the upper 70s and a mix of sun and clouds. A front drops into Alabama from the north tomorrow night and we will continue to mention the chance of a few showers Thursday, but rain amounts will be light, and many places won’t see a drop. Otherwise, expect a mix of sun and clouds with a high in the upper 70s.

FRIDAY THROUGH THE WEEKEND: An upper ridge builds into the region and it will keep Alabama’s weather mainly dry through the weekend. Our weather will be very warm with partly sunny days and fair nights; highs will be in the low to mid 80s, with lows in the 60s.

NEXT WEEK: A weakening front will bring the chance of showers to Alabama Monday, and possibly Tuesday, but severe storms are not expected with the main dynamic support passing far to the north. The weather looks dry Wednesday through Friday and the week will be warm with highs in the 80s. Still no sign of any high impact weather event (flooding, severe storms, etc) for Alabama for the next seven to ten days.
