Midday Nowcast: Breezy with Sunshine in Full Supply

Sunshine in full supply today as gorgeous weather continues to highlight our forecast this first week of May. It remains breezy again today and a wind advisory is in effect as winds could gust as high as 35 mph through the afternoon. The winds will relax tonight and it will be another chilly one with lows in the 40s. Not much change the next couple to days as the sky will remain sunny and highs will be in the 70s.

FRIDAY AND THE WEEKEND: Moisture levels begin to rise Friday and we will bring the chance of a few showers back to the forecast, nothing especially heavy or widespread. Friday will be warmer with a high around 80 degrees. Scattered showers will remain the forecast over the weekend, with clouds at times and sun at times. Some thunder will be possible, but severe storms are not expected. Highs over the weekend will be generally in the low 80s, close to average for early May in Alabama.

NEXT WEEK: Daily scattered showers will remain in the forecast for much of the week and it will remain warm and muggy with highs in the 80s. Rain chances increase by Friday as a cold front approaches Alabama, but now, severe storms are not expected.

CONTIGUOUS TEMPERATURE EXTREMES: Over the last 24 hours, the highest observation was 101F at Rio Grande Village, TX. The lowest observation was 15F at Peter Sinks, UT.
