Midday Nowcast: Another Sunny Day

OH SO NICE!: Sunny and breezy conditions continue today and after another chilly morning, highs this afternoon are surging again into the 70s. Tonight and it will be another chilly one with lows in the 40s. More of the same tomorrow, expect a sunny sky with highs again in the 70s.

USA BRIEF: A slow-moving storm system will bring moderate to heavy snow in the West Virginia Appalachians through the morning and showers will continue across the Great Lakes, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast. Much below average temperatures are expected in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. River flooding due to rapid snowmelt continues across much of the mountainous West and the Upper Midwest.

FRIDAY AND THE WEEKEND: Moisture levels rise Friday and we will bring the chance of a few showers back to the forecast, nothing especially heavy or widespread. Friday will be warmer with a high around 80 degrees. Scattered showers will remain the forecast Saturday, with a mix of sun and clouds. Showers thin out some Sunday and highs over the weekend will be in the low 80s Saturday and likely mid 80s Sunday.

NEXT WEEK: Daily scattered showers will remain in the forecast for much of the week and it will remain warm and muggy with highs in the 80s…a very summer-like pattern. Rain chances should increase by Friday as a cold front approaches Alabama, for now, severe storms are not expected.
