Messy Weak Storm System Monday Night into Wednesday Morning Snow Ice Forecasts
Let’s get the easy part of the forecast out of the way first. It is cold. It is windy. It will be cold overnight into Sunday morning. Skies have cleared out for the most part but the northwest wind remains busy overnight. Lows tonight will be mostly in the teens. Cold spots inland and sheltered valleys could see numbers in the single digits. Wind chills will drop to single digits to near zero. Clearly this is the coldest night of the winter for many.
SATELLITE
After a busy week of lake effect and frontal boundary snow squalls and snow showers, the regional radars have finally exhausted themselves and have gone mostly silent. No additional snow showers should develop here into Monday morning and then the radars will focus their attention southward with the developing low.
Winds will begin to ease Sunday with plenty of sunshine and some late day high clouds. Highs will reach the low to middle 30s and most places. Then we turn our attention to a storm coming out of the Southern Plains and heading into the lower Ohio Valley on Monday.
