May See Tropical Storm Franklin Within the Hour; Gulf System Bears Watching as Well : The Alabama Weather Blog
1 min read
NOAA Hurricane Hunters are finding tropical storm force winds in Invest 90L in the eastern Caribbean. The SFMR instrument measured 59 mph surface winds and fight level 30 second winds were as high as 50 knots, or 58 mph, when adjusted for altitude 52 mph.
The central pressure so far is 1001 mb.
Also keeping an eye on 91L in the Gulf. It has excellent outflow and is over 32C degree water. It doesn’t have long to develop before it reaches Texas, but it has a pretty good chance to become a tropical depression or tropical storm. Or more.
