We are in that time frame where this storm can easily go either way. A small change in track or location of development can make massive changes in the eventual outcome. The European and American models use different base systems for modeling, yet the two operational runs of those models are currently both focusing on Central NJ in our area for the heaviest snow. However, the ensemble mean for the American model remains a bit further north, and the European model did trend ever so slightly further north on this run from this morning. So, we will just have to wait and see.  At this point in time, you are looking for a trend in the data. “The trend is your friend”, they say in forecasting.
