A flash flood warning has been issued for parts of Jefferson, Shelby, Clay, and Talladega Counties in Central Alabama.
Hoover PD is reporting cars disabled in flooding at Highways 31 and 150 near the Galleria. Water rescues are in progres.
Cars are being diverted onto Data Drive from Highway 31.
Please be careful tonight. A large amount of rain has fallen in a short period of time. The Birningham Airport picked up over 1.46 in less than an hour between 6 and 7 p.m.

* Until 845 PM CDT.
* At 702 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Additional rainfall amounts of
1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Pelham, Mountain Brook, Trussville, Helena, Hueytown, Talladega,

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
