Flash Flood Warning for Parts of Marshall County EXTENDED UNTIL 3 p.m. : The Alabama Weather Blog

Several roads in Marshall County are impassable due to flash flooding, including Askea Grove Lane, wWrrenton Road, Brashiers Chapel Road, Cobb Road, Lookout Drive, and Lexington Drive.

The National Weather Service in Huntsville has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Central Marshall County in northeastern Alabama…

* Until 300 PM CDT.

* At 146 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are
possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
Albertville, Boaz, Guntersville, Arab, Douglas, Union Grove,
Mountain View, Hyatt, Rabbit Town, High Point, Horton and Eddy.

Rain is fairly widespread in the I-59 Corridor late this morning. 2-3 inches of rain has fallen in the past hour from south of Arab to Guntervsille. Flooding is likely.

possible in southern Marshall County. Flash flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly.
