Busy Wind Continues Overnight Calmer Tuesday Warmer Wednesday Into Weekend

The wind did howl this afternoon as we saw gusts up over 50 mph at times. The cold upper trough approaches tonight and the winds will remain strong and gusty to 30 mph or more but we are off the peaks of this afternoon. We will finally see the winds die off on Tuesday as the trough pulls out and higher pressures finally build in. Clouds will be around tonight as one last disturbance moves southeast from Western NY.

The radar is picking up snow showers over Western NY and that area will move east and weaken somewhat overnight. Most of it dries up before it gets here. There is the outside chance for a sprinkle or flurry around daybreak Overnight lows will be in the 30s.

We will see increasing amounts of sunshine Tuesday from south to north with less wind and highs will reach the low and mid 50s south of NYC but north and east of there temperatures will probably remain in the 40s due to clouds taking longer to get out of the way.

We are headed for a stretch of warmer than normal temperatures in the long range and it will be dry right through the weekend and into next week. Wednesday we will see sunshine with highs in the 50s except for Southern New Jersey and Southern Pennsylvania southward where we will reach the 60s. . Thursday and beyond we will see highs in the 60s to near 70 with some sunshine and we will carry that idea Friday and into the weekend with highs in the mid 60s to lower 70s each day. As long as the marine layer doesn’t become an issue with the stagnant high offshore, we should see some sunshine each day Friday through Sunday. We may have to wait awhile for any widespread rain.
