Alabama Weather Update Just After 11 p.m.

1 min read

Thankfully our most dangerous storms in the state right now are getting ready to push into Georgia, but our friends in Chambers and Lee Counties need to be vigilant for the next 30 minutes or so.

Those storms have a history of wind damage as they have pushed across Central Alabama tonight including a possible tornado in Autaiga County.

The strongest storms now extend from Valley and Lannett to west of Station to near Uniontown.

The most dangerous storm appears to be south of Tuskegee.

The flash flood threat is high in the current Flash Flood Warning areas. Over 7 inches of rain has fallen across a wide area.

More strong storms are over southern Dallas County. They will be approaching the Prattville/Montgomery areas.

To the north, storms continue to be strong but not severe tonight from Shelby County back to Hale County. Strong storms are over the Alabama/Mississippi border entering Pickens County. Lots of lightning and very heavy rain as well as some gusty winds, but the threat for severe weather, especially tornadoes has lessened for these areas.

The good news is that the boundaries over Central Alabama should s drop southward overnight and storms should be limoted to areas south of US-80 from Demopolis to Montgomery to Eufaula on Monday.
