Alabama Power Service Organization (APSO) volunteers are easing children’s and families’ transition into the new school year by donating school supplies statewide and helping prevent childhood hunger.

Several APSO chapters are sponsoring charitable projects that promote education, such as school-supply giveaways and helping at event fairs. Western Division APSO president Susie Harris said these activities are promoting education while helping lessen the financial burden many families experience at back-to-school time.
