A Few Light Showers in the Tennessee Valley

1 min read

A vorticity lobe swinging counter-clockwise around our upper low to the north has enough convergence to whip up some cold air instability clouds and showers. That band of clouds and a few sprinkles is sliding southeastward. The axis of the trough is just south of US-72 in North Alabama now.

The showers are expected to slide southeastward affecting the northeastern quarter of Alabama over the next few hours.

The clouds associated with it are pretty ominous, but their bark is way worse than their bite. Expect fairly rapid clearing after the line passes you.
westerly winds averaging around 8 mph through the overnight. Winds will be gusty til the line passes. Winds just gusted to 36 mph at the Huntsville International Airport. I still want to call it the Jetplex (a much cooler name).

Expect upper 30s in the normall colder locations with low to mid 40s for everyone else tonight. Back in the upper 60s to near 70F tomorrow.

Have a great night!
