6-Day forecast for the New York City metro region

Mainly cloudy, mild, some drizzle possible from this morning into mid-afternoon along with an isolated shower or two, more numerous showers likely late in the afternoon, highs in the mid 60’s; E-NE winds around 5 mph

Mainly cloudy in the evening with showers likely, clearing after midnight, becoming breezy and turning colder, lows in the mid-to-upper 40’s

Partly sunny, windy, much cooler, mid 50’s for afternoon highs

Wednesday Night

Mainly clear, windy, cold, mid-to-upper 30’s for late night lows

Mainly sunny, still windy and on the chilly side, mid 50’s

Mainly sunny, a bit milder, near 60 degrees

Mainly sunny, mild, lower 60’s

Partly sunny, breezy, mild, chance of showers, mid-to-upper 60’s

A cold front will close in on the region today bringing with it a good chance of showers; especially, from late in the afternoon into early tonight.  Skies should clear after midnight as a colder air mass pushes into the Mid-Atlantic region and a stiff NW breeze will develop following the passage of the cold front.  The next couple of days will feature windy conditions, daytime temperatures well below-normal for late April despite some sunshine on each day, and overnight lows in the 30’s in most suburbs.  Some modification will take place in temperatures during the late week period and the weekend should begin on a quiet and mild note.
