6-Day forecast for the New York City metro region

Mainly sunny, windy, quite cold, near freezing for afternoon highs

Saturday Night

Mainly clear, very cold, upper teens for late night lows

Mainly sunny, breezy, still quite cold, low-to-mid 30’s

Mainly cloudy, cold, chance of snow late in the day or at night, mid 30’s

Mainly cloudy, cold, chance of snow, mid 30’s

Mainly sunny early, clouds late, cold, mid 30’s

The next cold front will cross the region today and it’ll usher in quite a cold air mass for the upcoming weekend with highs on Saturday and Sunday confined to the lower or middle 30’s. Low pressure is likely to pull out of the south-central states by early Monday and head towards the Tennessee Valley while a secondary system forms off the Mid-Atlantic coastline. Snow is possible here from late Monday into Tuesday and accumulations are on the table, but there are still some questions as to the ultimate northward extent of this early week winter storm.
