6-Day forecast for the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania metro region

Snow, heavy at times early, will mix with sleet later in the morning, but not before several inches of snow has quickly accumulated in many areas, sleet continues for much of the day possibly mixed with freezing rain and/or snow at times, cold, highs in the upper 20’s; N winds at 5-10 mph

A mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain with additional small accumulations possible, cold, lows in the mid-to-upper 20’s

A wintry mix can change to all snow before the precipitation ends, cold, mid 30’s for highs

Friday Night

Mainly cloudy, breezy, still the chance of a snow shower, quite cold, lower 20’s for late night lows

Mainly sunny, windy, cold, lower 30’s

Partly sunny, cold, low-to-mid 30’s

Mainly cloudy, cold, chance of snow, near 40 degrees

Partly sunny, cold, near 40 degrees

Snow has overspread the region with our latest winter storm and it will be heavy at times with quick accumulations. The snow can mix with sleet later in the morning and the precipitation may actually lighten up for a brief time later in the day. Precipitation will then re-develop later tonight likely as a wintry mix and it can actually change back to all snow on Friday before precipitation winds down in what will turn out to be another rather long duration event. Snowfall accumulation estimates of 4-8 inches for the Philly metro region with isolated higher amounts N/W and there can be an icy buildup during the second half of the storm.
