6-Day forecast for the New York City metro region

A mix of clouds and sun, warmer, breezy, highs in the low-to-mid 70’s; S-SE winds at 5-15 mph

Mainly cloudy, mild, maybe a couple of showers, lows not far from 60 degrees

Partly sunny, quite warm, breezy, chance of afternoon showers, maybe a strong late day thunderstorm, near 80 degrees for afternoon highs

Thursday Night

Mainly cloudy with the chance of evening showers and thunderstorms, breezy, turning colder late, upper 40’s for late night lows

Mainly sunny, not as warm, can’t rule out a shower, upper 60’s

Partly sunny, mild, chance of showers, upper 60’s

Mainly sunny, colder, mid 50’s

Partly sunny, still chilly, chance of showers, mid-to-upper 50’s

Temperatures will climb into the 70’s later today and likely reach the 80 degree mark on Thursday afternoon just ahead of the next cool frontal system.  There can be a shower or thunderstorm on occasion during the next couple of days, but much of the time will be rain-free. In fact, any late day or evening thunderstorms on Thursday can be on the strong side. A cool front passes through on Thursday night and the work week will end on a slightly cooler note and then colder air will follow for Easter Sunday following the passage of a another cold front on Saturday night.
