Discussion
A strong cold front will approach the region later today and it’ll tend to slow down as it reaches the eastern seaboard which will allow for the formation of low pressure along the east coast. As a result, showers are possible here by later in the day and occasional rain is likely tonight. It’ll remain unsettled on Saturday behind the front as an upper-level wave of energy passes overhead and there can be some rain and/or snow shower activity in the Mid-Atlantic region. Winds will become rather strong in the wake of the frontal passage and should last right through the weekend. Another wave of energy aloft will head this way on Monday and it could generate another shower or two or rain and/or snow.
