6-Day forecast for the Washington, D.C. metro region

Mainly cloudy in the morning, partly sunny in the afternoon, windy, still on the chilly side, highs in the upper 50’s; NW winds at 10-20 mph; gusts to 30 mph

Mainly sunny, a bit milder, mid 60’s for afternoon highs

Friday Night

Mainly clear, chilly, near 40 degrees for late night lows

Mainly sunny, mild, mid-to-upper 60’s

Becoming mainly cloudy, mild, chance of late day or nighttime showers, near 70 degrees

Partly sunny, warmer, chance of showers, mid 70’s

Mainly cloudy, breezy, warm, chance of showers, mid 70’s

A chilly air mass pushed into the Mid-Atlantic region on Wednesday, and it’ll stay quite a bit below-normal for the next 24 hours with highs confined to 60 degrees or slightly below and overnight lows back down in the 30’s in most suburban locations.  It turns a bit milder on Friday and the weekend is shaping up to be mild and likely on the dry side until perhaps late Sunday or Sunday night when showers could fall with an approaching frontal system.
