Discussion

A cold front pushed through the region last night and its passage has unleashed another colder-than-normal air mass to the Mid-Atlantic region. Temperatures today will be confined to the lower 40’s for afternoon highs and then fall into the middle 20’s for overnight lows. After a chilly day on Friday, rain should develop late tomorrow night and continue into Saturday…some of it can be heavy at times. The culprit of this soaking rain event will be strong low pressure that moves to a position just off the Mid-Atlantic coastline by early Saturday. Following the storm, another chilly air mass will arrive in the Mid-Atlantic region on Sunday and there will again be a stiff flow of air out of the northwest.
