WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) After recent heavy rain and flooding, organizers of Polo on the Plains were forced to change the venue last minute.
On Saturday, guests showed up at Murfin Stables, sun hats and hall, for some polo and fundraising. Initially, the event was going to be held at the Fairfield Polo Club.
Polo on the Plains raises money for Kidscope, a program through the Wichita Children’s Home that services children and families after they’ve lost a loved one. Through counseling and support groups, Kidscope aims to teach children how to manage their grief.
“Yeah, timing was perfect for the fundraiser. Weather has been trying over the past couple of week but the sun shined. It’s beautifully green, the horses were awesome, really good event today,” said Tom George.
Organizers say the money raised will pay for children to go through a nine week program at no cost.
