WEATHER: Damaging weather threat diminishing across the First Coast

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — What a way to kick off the astronomical start to Spring 2018. We watched as rounds of strong to severe storms rolled across the First Coast on Tuesday afternoon and now drier, cooler air is moving in behind the front.

The severe weather threat has shifted to our south, near Orlando and Melbourne. Tonight, the wind picks up out of the west and temperatures drop into the 40s inland and lower 50s along the coast. Skies clear and we welcome back the sunshine for the latter half of our work week.

Wednesday will be cool and gusty with brisk sunshine and highs in the middle to upper 60s. By Thursday and Friday mornings, our lows will be in the upper 30s and lower 40s.

Beach weather returns by the weekend with continued sunshine and highs back in the middle and upper 70s.
