Metro Detroit weather forecast for April 22, 2019.
A warm-up is expected to reach metro Detroit today, with highs expected in the 70s, according to the National Weather Service.
In a tweet, NWS Detroit said a mixture of sun and clouds is expected. A detailed forecast added that the day’s high near 74 degrees is anticipated to drop to a low of 54 overnight.
NWS White Lake office meteorologist Mike Richter told the Free Press that Monday’s high surpasses the day’s average high temperature by more than 10 degrees.
According to NWS records, Richter said the average high for April 22 is 62 degrees. He added that Monday is also expected to be the warmest day this week, with temperatures in the 60s anticipated in the coming days.
There is a chance for early showers and possible thunderstorms Tuesday, NWS Detroit tweeted, but any precipitation is expected to clear later in the day.
Richter said the rain is expected in the early morning hours, “any time between 5 a.m. and maybe 10 or 11 a.m., (there’s) just a chance.”
However, Richter said the weather is expected to dry out for the rest of the afternoon.
There’s also a possibility for some rain Thursday afternoon and evening, but Richter said that chance remains small, at 20%.
