The Front Range will see sunny skies and warm temperatures Sunday ahead of a slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening and possible severe weather in the northeast corner of the state.
Highs in Denver will hover around 80 degrees Sunday, with light winds and an about 10% chance of a late afternoon thunderstorm, according to the National Weather Service at Boulder.
A few severe storms are possible, the weather service said, particularly over the northeast plains, and near the Wyoming and Nebraska borders. Hail up to an inch in diameter is possible, as well as heavy rain over the far northeast plains, according to the service.
To the south, storms will be more isolated and likely less severe, according to the weather service.
The chance for afternoon thunderstorms will continue on Monday before a mid-week dry spell that’s followed by more potential thunderstorms at the end of the week. The Front Range’s weather looks to be mild and sunny for most of the week.
