Chief Meteorologist Ross Janssen says that warmer temperatures are expected to return at the end of the week. In fact, some areas could see a return to 90s as early as Friday.

Skies will be clear into the night with lows in the 40s and 50s. The winds will die down and begin to switch to the south. Highs Thursday afternoon will mainly be in the 70s for central Kansas but warm into the 80s across the far west.

A few showers may skirt western Kansas late Thursday night, but they should fade as the night continues.

Friday will have strong south winds and summerlike weather. Highs could reach the low 90s in western Kansas with 80s for central and eastern Kansas. Thunderstorms will push back into the area late Friday night. There will be more nighttime storms off and on through the Father’s Day weekend.
