A stormy weather pattern picks up for us once again today through Thursday morning, with more Sierra snow showers and valley rain.
We have a 40 percent chance for a few scattered showers this afternoon along with gusty winds 15-35 mph and our temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s.
A winter storm warning and winter weather advisories are up for Lake Tahoe and the Sierra and today through Thursday morning where 1-2 feet of snow will fall above 7,000 feet, giving us chain controls and travel delays throughout the day on Wednesday, travel is not advised in the mountains. 5-10 inches of snow can be expected at lake level.
We will see a rain and snow mix on Wednesday morning for our valleys with no major accumulations expected and up to half an inch of rain will fall throughout the day with gusty winds.
Our storm wraps up by Thursday morning with a few leftover showers. Friday and your weekend looks pretty good with partly cloudy skies and highs warming back up into the 50s and low 60s by Sunday. Another storm system will bring us more rain and mountain snow showers by early next week.
