It’s a foggy and damp Thursday morning with a few showers, but thunderstorms with heavier rain will roll in later today.
Expect a couple of rounds of rain, the first one arriving after the AM commute followed by additional thunderstorms this afternoon.
Lightning and pockets of heavy rain are a concern today, but severe weather is not in the forecast.
After a brief break from the wet weather tonight, another round of rain and storms will roll through the area on Friday.
The atmosphere is suggesting a small chance of strong, damaging wind during the afternoon and early evening, so please keep a close eye on weather conditions if you have outdoor plans, including high school football playoff games.
Significantly colder air moves in this weekend. Temperatures will tumble into the low and middle 40s at night and we may not reach 60 degrees on Saturday afternoon.
A third storm system promises more rainfall on Monday followed by the COLDEST air of the season so far. Frosty temperatures look likely Tuesday night and a our first freeze is possible for areas north of I-10.
We are keeping an eye on the tropical Atlantic Basin, but there are currently no areas of concern. Hurricane season runs through the end of this month.
