Mostly sunshine until Thursday’s rain, snow showers

The temperature in the metro area is expected to hit 49 degrees Tuesday, warm enough to melt more of the snow left over the weekend.

The day will be mostly sunny with an overnight low of 25 degrees.

“It’s pretty seasonal temperatures. There’s not much going on for the next couple of days,” said Greg Hanson, meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

It will be breezy along the foothills where wind could gust as high as 50 mph, “but that won’t make it into Denver,” Hanson said.

Wednesday will be sunny with a high near 46 and an overnight low of 29 degrees.

Precipitation could return on Thursday when there is a 40 percent chance of rain and snow showers. The day will be mostly cloudy with a high near 42 degrees. Thursday night is expected to be partly cloudy with a low around 23 degrees.

On Friday, the sun is expected to return. The high temperature is expected to be near 44 degrees and the overnight low around 27.

Saturday will again be sunny with a high near 50 and an overnight low of 29 degrees.
