If you’ve been pining for warm weather and sun this week, prepare to be disappointed.
Snow and freezing rain are expected on Thursday and Friday, according to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis. The conditions will likely affect commuters this week.
Meteorologist Tara Dudzik told IndyStar that snow will begin to fall in Indianapolis around noon on Thursday. The Central Indiana region is expected to get around 2 to 4 inches of snow and light ice accumulations, according to NWS.
Temperatures will reach a high near 31 degrees on Thursday and a low of around 28 degrees on Thursday night, according to the forecast.

On Thursday night into Friday morning, freezing rain will mix in with the snow, Dudzik said. The wintry mix is expected to end by early Friday afternoon.
Friday’s temperatures will rise to around 40 degrees and fall to around 30 degrees at night.
The conditions will likely lead to slippery roads that could potentially be dangerous during Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes, NWS said. Dudzik says people should add extra time to their typical commutes.
