Weather forecast for Monday, March 18, 2019
Metro Detroit is expected to finally warm up this week just in time for official first day of spring on Wednesday, with temperatures in the mid to upper 40s, almost 50s, all week long, according to the National Weather Service in White Lake.
Meteorologist Danny Costello told the Free Press metro Detroit can expect a high in the low 40s Monday, plus a “good amount of sunshine most of the day.”
Clouds are expected to increase in the late afternoon into the evening, but the day will be mostly sunny. As for overnight, the Detroit area can expect a low in the upper 20s, but places further from the metro area — like western Wayne County and northern Oakland County — can expect temperatures in the low- to mid-20s.
Going forward, a calm-weathered warm-up appears to be on the horizon.
Costello said no major weather events are in the forecast, but some light rain showers may hit Wednesday. The high that day is expected to be near 50 degrees, he added.
Normal highs for Detroit are typically around 47 degrees for this time of the year, Costello said.
According to the agency, here are the forecast temperatures this week:

Wednesday: High, 49; low, 34
Thursday: High, 46; low, 33
