March 18, 1:30 PM Weather Forecast Update

A few spotty rain/snow/graupal showers are possible this afternoon-early as these cumulus clouds build with passage of shortwave (cold pocket aloft with lower pressure).

Highs will run 39-46.

With clearing skies, heavy frost & some fog patches, lows tonight will drop to 23-26.

With increasing clouds tomorrow, highs will run 46-51 followed by 29-32 tomorrow night.  There will not be much wind tomorrow (south to southeast to southwest varying all day at 3-7 mph), which will make it feel pretty good despite another day below normal temperature-wise.

With skies becoming cloudy early Wednesday morning, showers will develop & pass mid-morning to afternoon.  After lows 29-32, temperatures should be 33-36 around 7 a.m.  The potential is there for the showers to mix with, even change to snow & sleet at times with temperatures in the 30s to near 40.

Localized, brief, light grassy & elevated accumulation cannot be ruled out, mainly during the morning to midday hours.

Showers will tend to taper in the late afternoon-early evening.

Highs should run 40-45.

Thursday-Sunday will feature some of the finest weather since early October.

50s Thursday will give way to 60s Friday & 60s to 70s Saturday through the Friday of next week!

Showers & t’storms are possible Monday & Tuesday, then Friday.

Severe weather risk looks to be shifting to stay more southwest of us a week from this Friday.  This, even with sharp cool-down a week from this Friday with that strong cold front.  We will still monitor closely.

March will end & April begin on a chilly note with freezing at night & the potential of a few flakes after a period of spring weather.

However, it will turn much warmer again April 3-6 & severe risk will get far enough northeast by around April 6.

We will monitor.
