Clouds return Friday with a slight chance for rain. Rain will increase Friday night and Saturday. Don’t expect much sunshine in the week ahead.
Thursday turned out to be a rather pleasant day with sunshine and near normal temperatures. After lows in the upper 20s to low 30s this morning, daytime highs climbed into the mid 50s to low 60s. I hope you enjoyed the sunshine because once the clouds return late Thursday night into Friday morning, we’ll be lucky to see much more until perhaps Monday and very little next week after Monday.
Friday’s rainfall chances look rather low as most of the rain will develop Friday night into Saturday morning. It now appears that we could see the rain threat remain rather high through all of Saturday as a surge of colder air slowly moves across the region. Look for Saturday temperatures to range from the upper 40s over the northwestern edge of the area to the mid to upper 60s over the southeast. That cooler air will ease southward Saturday night into Sunday. Highs Sunday will likely be much cooler in the 40s and 50s. Rainfall chances will remain high across the Arklatex until the colder air settles in Sunday. Futurecast indicates that this system will likely drop 1/2 to one inch of rain with the heaviest amounts over the southeast half of the. Right now it looks like some thunder will be possible Saturday but we won’t see much of a severe weather threat.
The chance for rain will likely decrease Monday and Tuesday with a little sunshine possible Monday. We will begin another warming trend for next week. Highs Monday will be in the mid to upper 50s. We’ll see highs close to 70 degrees by the end of the week. Rainfall chances will likely increase once again sometime in the late Wednesday through Thursday time frame.
Krewe of Gemini Outlook: Cloudy with a good chance for rain. Some thunder possible. Temps in the low 60s.
Average High/Low for today’s date: 60/38.
