Snow much for that.
The storm that was supposed to bring some snow to the area is tracking too far south to impact most of Long Island, according to the National Weather Service.
There’s a 20 percent chance of a dusting of light snow on the South Shore of Nassau County, some time in the early morning hours of Sunday, but the rest of the Island should stay dry, forecasters said.
It certainly feels like a January weekend: The morning started out with temperatures in the teens and wind chills even lower. By shortly before 1 p.m. it was 31 degrees at Long Island MacArthur Airport, with a windchill of 23 degrees.
Overnight lows are in the mid-20s in Nassau and the lower 20s in Suffolk.
Sunday’s forecast includes a cloudy morning before becoming partly sunny, with highs in the lower 30s and winds 10 to 15 mph.
Monday is expected to be mostly sunny with highs in the mid-30s, winds 10 to 15 mph and gusts up to 25 mph in some areas.
