Snow could hit London and the south-east on Friday as the cold snap gripping the capital continues.
The Met Office said wintry showers could reach higher parts of the south-east.
Forecaster Marco Petagna said: “It will be a brighter day tomorrow with winds turning colder and more showers, which could turn wintry in places, mainly on higher ground.
“Tomorrow night, temperatures will fall below freezing quite widely, dropping to -4C in rural areas.”
Mr Petagna said any snow was unlikely to cause widespread disruption and was expected to be confined to higher ground.
Temperatures are then expected to rise to 9-10C during the course of the weekend, before colder conditions return on Sunday.
Mr Petagna said showers could once again turn wintry during next week.
Earlier this week, Paris was transformed into a winter wonderland as heavy snowfall hit the French capital.
