Hot temperatures continue with chance of p.m. showers


Unseasonably hot weather remains in the Denver forecast through the week along with a chance for afternoon thunderstorms.

Isolated to scattered afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms are expected daily through Friday, according to the National Weather Service. Thunderstorms are not expected to be too severe, however, as the most robust storms will be found along Colorado’s eastern border, especially on Wednesday and Friday.

In Denver there’s a 10% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday, the weather service said. Skies will be partly sunny and the high temperature should hit 90 degrees.

The chance for precipitation in Denver on Wednesday increases to 20% and the high temperature sticks to 90 degrees. Thursday and Friday will be a bit hotter in the city, with a high temp of 91 followed by a high of 93 degrees.

Overnight low temperatures in Denver this week are expected to be in the upper 50s to lower 60s.

The coming weekend in northeastern Colorado is looking hot, dry and breezy, with an increased chance of fire danger.
