An area of moderate to heavy snow showers was located over central and western Monroe County, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a special weather statement.

Locations impacted include Rochester, Greece, Chili, Geneva, Canandaigua, Brockport,
East Rochester, Fairport, Brighton, Gates-North Gates, Henrietta, Penfield, Newark, Spencerport, Palmyra, Victor, Honeoye Falls, Clifton Springs, Phelps and Churchville.

Visibility will drop quickly to less than one half of a mile in this area of heavy snow and affect road conditions during the  morning commute.

Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra time when traveling, the Weather Service warns.
