The NBC Connecticut meteorologists have issued a First Alert for a weather roller coaster and there are several school delays Monday morning.
Wintry weather moved into the state Sunday evening, with some sleet and freezing drizzle, and roads in parts of the state are covered in slush.
Winter weather advisories are in effect for northern Connecticut counties.
Areas of Litchfield County and northern Windham County will experience temperatures right around 32 degrees, therefore slick spots are possible.
Freezing drizzle will continue into the early morning hours before transitioning to plain rain.
Moderate to heavy rain is falling this morning with a round of thunderstorms during the late morning and early afternoon hours.
Winds will become gusty, with gusts of 35 to 45 mph expected.
The unsettled weather will exit the state by tonight with gradual clearing.
