Evening Weather Forecast Tuesday, November 27th, 2018

It’s going to stay windy and cold tonight and Wednesday with scattered flurries and snow showers. Once again there will be little, if any, accumulation near and east of I-99 with a few more inches likely on some of the higher elevations near and just west of Route 219. Be careful as it will be cold enough that any wet spots you see on the roads can be icy. Also, roads will be covered due to the snow showers and blowing snow in the higher elevations. Some wind gusts later tonight and Wednesday will reach over 40mph. There is a wind advisory in effect for Bedford County eastward through 4pm on Wednesday. Highs Wednesday will be in the 20s across the higher terrain to the lower to middle 30s in the deeper valleys farther to the east.

Thursday will still be a bit blustery with a cloudy to partly sunny sky. Highs will be in the 30s. The weather will become unsettled again as we head into the end of the week. The first of two disturbances will bring us plenty of clouds on Friday with drizzle, perhaps a bit of light rain at times. Highs will be in the 30s. Another period of rain redevelops on Saturday. Temperatures will rise through the 30s to near 40 on Saturday and then may continue to rise despite rain Saturday night. A couple of showers are still possible on Sunday; otherwise, the day will turn cloudy to partly sunny and breezy and a good bit milder. Highs will be near to above 50. We’ll have more clouds than sunshine on Monday with highs in the 40s. There may be some showers or rain developing Monday and that chance for some rain will continue into Tuesday. Behind this system, it will turn much colder for the end of next week.
