Dangerous winter weather to continue in Montana

WIND CHILL ADVISORY for all of southwest Montana east of the divide, including Bozeman, until 11 am Friday. Wind chills of 15 to 25 below zero.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY Thursday night and Friday for northwest Montana, including the Kalispell area. Snowfall of 1 to 3 inches with locally up to 5 inches.

WINTER STORM WATCH Friday night and Saturday for northwest Montana southeast to the Butte area. More accumulating snow of 2 to 5 inches.

A dangerous weather scenario will unfold across western Montana Friday through Saturday. Wind chills will remain brutal east of the divide through Friday and then area wide Friday night and Saturday. Wind chills will be in the 10s and 20s below zero, with a brief period of wind chills around 40 below near the divide with the passage of an arctic front Friday night and Saturday.

Snow developing Thursday night and Friday across northwest Montana around Kalispell. Snow Friday as far south as Missoula. Lows Thursday night in the below zero in Butte to the single digits above zero elsewhere. Highs Friday in the 10s to lower 20s.

Snow Friday night and Saturday, mainly west of the divide around Missoula, Kalispell and Butte. Gusty winds up to 30 and 40 mph behind the front. Blowing and drifting snow. Lows single digits above and below zero. Much colder Saturday with highs in the single digits. More snow possible Sunday with lows in the single digits and 10s below zero and highs in the single digits to lower 10s. Highs warming to the 20s next week.
